BAM Supports Local Community Centre

15 Jan 2025

In December a team from BAM offered their staff time to assist the vital work at LIFT (Low Income Families Together) and The Muirhouse Millenium Centre based in North Edinburgh, do to support the community.

LIFT (Low Income Families Together) are based in The Muirhouse Millenium Centre in North Edinburgh. They help individuals, families and the community to learn new skills to improve their lives thereby encouraging their children to grow up feeling loved, safe and respected so that they can realise their full potential.

LIFT were looking for assistance to dismantle, pack up and store their ‘Santa Centre’ and make their premises fit for purpose for the start of the New Year.

The ESES Communities team found the match with BAM – a UK leader in engineering, construction, energy and facilities management. Five of their senior management team offered their fantastic support in December. They also kindly donated Supermarket Vouchers on the day itself.

“We come back after the Christmas holidays and can’t open the centre until we have cleared away the madness of our Hamper appeals. In addition, in January, many families struggle due to spending too much to provide their kids with the best Christmas they can. This has been a massive help to ensure families have food to feed their children and to our staff who can get back to doing what they do best. We cannot thank everyone enough for their kindness”
‐ Pauline Nicol-Bowie, MBE CEO and Founder, LIFT
