ESES Communities Update - 3rd Year Report

When we embarked on creating www.esescommunities.org over 3 years ago, we aimed to encourage links between good causes and businesses across Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife and Borders.
The portal is funded through the Edinburgh & South East Scotland (ESES) City Region Deal and delivered by our team at Capital City Partnership.

We launched this platform three years ago with a clear goal: to maximize the benefits and opportunities delivered within Fife, Edinburgh, the Lothians and Scottish Borders which all sit under the ESES City Region Deal area, through the mechanism of Community Benefits. We envisioned a space where community groups could connect with the resources and support they need to thrive, and suppliers could easily discover impactful ways to contribute to these communities.

The portal has created a platform for charities and community organisations in the region to make community benefit requests of businesses in the supply chain of City Deal projects. We have been delighted by the response of contractors and their supply chains, as well as other business looking to make a positive impact by giving back to their community.

Since then, we have grown the site to include other comprehensive information relating to Community Wealth Building including;

* Community Wealth Building Toolkit - to act as an introduction to CWB for all
* Community Wealth Building Case Studies and Videos - to showcase some of the great work taking place
* ESES City Region Deal Community Wealth Building Pledge - to demonstrate the Deals ambition to embed the values of CWB in their daily activity
* Social Business Directory - to provide suppliers with a tangible list of 'go to' organisations in the area, to further local investment and social enterprise spend
