Midlothian is a great place to live and work and many community groups work tirelessly to plug the gaps in services and make it a happy and thriving community. They do this with limited funds, and they need your help. See how you can help, from painting a wall to donating wood or building a park bench. Things like this can have an incredible impact on the community.

• Bird Boxes for Roslin Moat nature reserve

  We plan to work with local children at the village fete and build bird boxes to install at Roslin Moat (our local biodiversity site).

• Laptops for the Third Sector Interface

  Midlothian Community Action are looking for some lightweight laptops.

• Can you supply plants, shrubs & bulbs?

  Can you brighten up Roslin in Midlothian by supplying plants, bulbs and shrubs to a community gardening group?

• Donate gardening resources and equipment

  Can you provide some materials that will help our garden and our volunteers grow and thrive?

• Silent Disco Kit

• Financial Assistance for Hire of Venue

  The Warblers is a singing group in East Lothian and Midlothian for anyone with a lung condition or who struggles with breathlessness. We are looking for financial contributions to help continue the service.

  We are looking for labour and materials to help us build a skills sharing shed.

• Help to build a mud kitchen

  Looking to have a mud kitchen installed to benefit children with imaginary play, sensory play and cognitive growth

• Raised Beds at Roslin Primary School

  Support to install raised beds to make use of neglected space at Roslin Primary School

• Artificial turf/grass needed in Penicuik

  Can you help Penicuik Family Learning Centre? They are looking for 44 square metres of artificial turf or grass to develop a garden for their under-2s room.

• Community Centre Improvements

  A community centre in Loanhead requires various items to continue providing a safe and affordable space.

• Border fence for Dalkeith Pétanque Club

  We need a 32m x 1m high fence along the perimeter of one side of the piste. The club has attracted many different people from the community. One is 80% blind, and most are extremely elderly, which has brought to our attention the need for a perimeter fence to prevent accidents.

• Help bring Newtongrange Pavilion back to life

  They are desperate for people to help! Any of the following would make an incredible contribution: Ripping out the existing kitchen, Donate/buy kitchen units, worktops, white goods, oven, hob, coffee machine, Install a new kitchen.

• Plastering & Repairs

  Help is needed to fill, sand and paint a small hole!

• Invest in Midlothian: Support the Base Youth Club

  The Base provides a free, safe space for primary school-aged children to play, learn, and connect with their peers.

• Help Newtongrange Community Garden

  Newtongrange Community Garden are looking to regenerate a small area of land, to benefit their local community.

• Community café and toilets upgrade

  Upgrading the toilets and café building

• New oven and hob for Pathhead Village Hall

  The hall is well-utilised and has a kitchen space that local groups and individuals can hire, but the oven and hob are nearing the end of their lives!

• Accessibility Ramp Design Installation

  Pathhead Community Village Hall requires an accessibilty ramp from the front door to the main pavement

• Work Placements for young people

  Looking for work experience opportunities for young people
