Accessibility Ramp Design Installation

Pathhead and District Community Association

Status: Open Request
Location: Pathhead Community hall
Town: Pathhead

Description

Pathhead Community Village Hall requires an accessibilty ramp to the front door to the main pavement.

What are we looking for:

1. We require a professional design/drawings, for ‘Transport Scotland’ Permission & Planning Permission. We don't need a Building Warrant because the ramp is short.

2. We require an estimate of the costings of the project, including builder project management and completion.

We have the funds available for an immediate start but only 1-year max to fulfil grant obligations.

The following technical drawings are available upon request:

Background:

The Pathhead Village Hall is run by the Pathhead and District Community Association, a registered Scottish Charity.

The village hall is an integral part of village life and requires ongoing maintenance. We try to cover the majority of these costs with hire revenue. We set up a fundraising team to secure funds for significant improvements to the Hall and we are always keen to hear how you might be able to help the Hall, with donations of money, time or expertise.

Why support the Hall?

The Hall belongs to the Community. Although there are other venues in the Village, (eg, the Pavilion or the Primary School hall), there are a number of compelling reasons to protect the Village Hall.

The Hall cannot be taken away from the Village as long as the Village supports the Hall. The Pavilion for example is owned by Midlothian Council who could withdraw funding at any time. This could not happen to the village hall. However, without the support of the community, the Hall could fall so far into disrepair that it would have to be sold and lost forever.
