Bird Boxes for Roslin Moat nature reserve

Can you fund some bird box kit to help a Midlothian biodiversity site and raise childrens awareness about nature? 

Roslin Moat is a local biodiversity site on the edge of Roslin and is enjoyed by many villagers and visitors to the area. The Friends of Roslin Moat promote nature conservation and biodiversity on the site.

We plan to work with local children at the village fete and build bird boxes to install at Roslin Moat (our local biodiversity site).

 

 

The fete will be held in Roslin Park, and the bird boxes will be installed in the reserve.

We strongly believe that involving children in these activities helps to raise awareness about the nature around them. Last year we ran a bat-building session, and this was a huge success. All local residents will benefit (albeit indirectly) from this activity.

A bird box kit costs around £20, and we'd like to buy 20 of them - an overall cost of £400. We'd be happy to add a logo/ 'sponsored by sign' to the boxes.

We will be using the kits at Roslin Village Fete, which is on Sat 30th August 2025.
