Hall Hire Support

Description

The Base is a new Youth Club that will be held at the Danderhall Community Hub in Midlothian. The children are from Midlothian: Shawfair, Danderhall, Millerhill, Newton Village, and surrounding areas. We have 60 children signed up wanting to attend.

We are looking for financial contributions towards our weekly hall hire to offer this service for free.

 

Backstory:

We noticed that children in our area aged between 7-12 had nowhere to go and nothing to do at night. Parents, carers and members of the local community wanted to do something to support and develop the young people in our area.

We came up with the idea of a Youth Club. We did a trial run to test this idea, which was a massive success. Over 100 people attended, and as a result, 60 kids registered to join the Youth Club, and 10 adults signed up to be volunteer helpers.

Support request:

The Youth Club will take place every Friday, and the weekly hall hire will cost us £67.50. We do not want to charge the children to use our youth club, so we need to ensure that we are getting enough funding to cover the hall hire. This is our only fixed weekly expense.

We will provide free fruit, diluting juice, and biscuits for the children, in addition to having a tuck shop to generate some income each week.
