WHO ARE WE?

We are a group of parents, grandparents and carers who fundraise to improve the experiences and well-being of the children at Newtongrange Primary School. We receive no government funding or any formal funding of any kind. We try to provide the support and extra activities that schools can no longer afford to fund that makes school life memorable and enjoyable.

OUR AIM

Newtongrange Primary School is celebrating 100 years and we would like to mark the occasion by hosting silent discos for the children in every year group.  We would like to purchase the silent disco equipment to allow us to host these events, and many more across the school in years to come. The events aim to support the children to improve well-being, foster good mental health, encourage active movement, celebrate success, increase engagement in school activities and create happy memories.

 

WHO WILL BENEFIT?

We have approximately 400 children and staff at Newtongrange Primary who would directly benefit by having access to this equipment. We also plan to make the headsets available to other local schools and youth organisations in the Midlothian area so that many more children can benefit from the silent disco equipment.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR AND HOW CAN YOU HELP?

We are looking for monetary donations of any amount up to £1750. The full amount would allow us to purchase 30 silent disco headsets and the associated transmitter equipment. However, any amount would allow us to start to build our collection with a few headsets while we build up to the full number.
