Easter Bush
Funding from the Edinburgh & South East Scotland City Region Deal will contribute to the creation of a new AgriTech facility at the University of Edinburgh.
The Agritech Hub, based at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies’ Easter Bush Campus near Roslin, Midlothian, is part of the City Region Deal’s investment into data-driven innovation.
The centre will undertake crucial research into the agricultural sector, utilising technology and data to form solutions that will help the industry improve and build sustainable food supplies.
Working in conjunction with existing AgriTech institutes and commercial facilities, a campus-wide will be created to generate and record local and global data in areas such as animal genetics, food species, soil, weather and market analysis.
As part of this project, there is also a proposed A701 relief road and A702 link, which represents a significant investment in the key infrastructure needed to support the major growth planned along the A701 corridor in Mid Lothian.
