East Lothian 'Drop in and Connect'

30 Oct 2025

On Thursday, the 30th of October, East Lothian Council's Economic Development team hosted ‘Drop-in and Connect’

This event concluded East Lothian Business Month and provided a valuable opportunity for local businesses to interact informally with various Council departments and business support organisations.

The event included a welcome from East Lothian Council's new Chief Executive, Laurence Rockey, who shared some interesting reflections on his first 5 months in the role.

He mentioned East Lothian’s sense of beauty and sense of opportunity, noting that it is a county undergoing rapid change and one of the fastest-growing areas in Scotland in terms of population. This presents significant opportunities, one of which is the increased number of customers to work with.

He talked about East Lothian’s Blindwells, the first new town in Scotland since the 1960s. Berwick Bank, a proposed offshore wind farm and East Lothian’s application to become an AI Growth Zone.

Exciting times and a fantastic opportunity for our team to network and connect.
