East Lothian

Community Spaces Grants
Funding to support local communities experiencing poverty and trauma in Scotland. Registered charities with an annual income of between £30,000 and £500,000 are eligible to apply.

National Lottery Awards for All Scotland
Social connections and community activities are at the heart of creating healthier, happier lives and a flourishing society. That’s why we support amazing community-led projects.
We can fund projects that’ll do at least one of these things:
- bring people together to build strong relationships in and across communities
- improve the places and spaces that matter to communities
- help more people to reach their potential, by supporting them at the earliest possible stage
- support people, communities and organisations facing more demands and challenges because of the cost-of-living crisis.

Midlothian

Volunteering Support Fund
The fund supports small to medium-sized third sector organisations across Scotland to recruit additional volunteers for the delivery of a new, or the expansion of an existing, volunteering project.
The aim is to improve how volunteers are supported in their roles. Organisations are encouraged to demonstrate how their project contributes to the Scottish Government’s priority of ending Child Poverty.

Thrive Grants Programme
Thrive is a targeted grants programme developed to support charities providing financial advice, building financial resilience, delivering financial education or simply encouraging good financial health with people living in vulnerable circumstances. This could include providing practical financial support, budgeting assistance, help with debt management, financial education, and personalised advice, to help people navigate financial challenges and build long-term resilience.
Unrestricted funding can be used towards core costs, delivery costs, project costs and/or general running costs enabling charities to use their funding in the way that helps them best and deal with challenges quickly and effectively

West Lothian

Cashback for Communities
Applications are now open for a new phase of the Scottish Government’s CashBack for Communities programme. This fund reinvests criminal assets recovered through the Proceeds of Crime Act into projects that support young people and strengthen communities across Scotland.
From April 2026 to March 2029, up to £26 million will be available to organisations delivering positive opportunities for young people aged 10–25, particularly those at risk of becoming involved in antisocial behaviour, offending, or reoffending.

Rural, Community Led Local Development Fund
The aim of the RCLLD Fund is to deliver community-based activity to meet one or more of the Scottish Government priorities:
- Eradicating child poverty
- Growing the economy
- Tackling the climate emergency
- Improving public services

Scottish Borders

Neighbourhood Support Fund
The Neighbourhood Support Fund (NSF) is designed to empower voluntary and community groups across the Scottish Borders to deliver community-based projects that have a positive impact on the lives of local residents.
Aimed at strengthening community resilience, this year the NSF focuses on addressing social isolation, skills development, enhancing wellbeing, and increasing participation in community life.
This partnership model reflects a joint commitment to safeguarding community funds while enhancing transparency, capacity and impact of community-based organisations.

"Wild your Space" Microgrant
The objective of the microfund is to provide a small amount of grant funding for individuals, families and small school groups in the Scottish Borders to ‘wild’ their garden, balcony or other small green space that they own.
