Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is a life science and clinical research company headquartered in the United States. It is a global supplier of analytical instruments, clinical development solutions, speciality diagnostics, laboratory, pharmaceutical and biotechnology services.

As part of their contract with the University of Edinburgh, Thermo Fisher Scientific is committed to engaging in Community Benefits throughout Edinburgh and South East Scotland. They frequently review the ESES Communities Portal to help deliver these initiatives.

Within a recent batch of donations, they kindly offered to support the following organisations: 

 

Forge and Equip is a new and unique social enterprise based in East Lothian, working to sustainably provide meaningful training opportunities to people who have faced barriers to learning and work. They were seeking funding to purchase Personal Protective Equipment for their trainees.

‘Respitality’ is a Scottish government-backed initiative delivered locally by ‘Carers of East Lothian’. Respitality aims to provide a short, vital break from routine for unpaid carers in Scotland when they need it most. Thermo Fisher Scientific contributed towards their mission.
