SLS supports Cupar Food Bank

 

Scientific Laboratory Supplies is a supplier of laboratory equipment, consumables and chemicals to universities, NHS, Biotech and industrial laboratories throughout the UK.

As part of their supply contract with the University of Edinburgh, they are asked to engage with the ESES Communities Team to explore opportunities for social value investment in Edinburgh and Southeast Scotland. This is the second year of collaboration, and this year they were particularly keen to support organisations in Fife.

The ESES Team reached out to Cupar Food Bank and made an introduction. Their stocks had been depleted in recent months, and they were able to provide Scientific Laboratory Supplies with a list of items they needed most.

 

Cupar Food Bank provides emergency food and practical support to people in their hardest moments. They also work with partners and local communities to ensure everyone gets the right help long before they need a food bank.

 

 

Here is what Steve Blake, the Cupar Foodbank Manager, has to say, "We received donations of food and toiletries from Scientific Laboratory Supplies to help boost our stock in the lead-up to the Christmas period."

The donations will be put towards the Christmas hampers that we provide during the holiday season. We anticipate supplying around 100 hampers, which will help approximately 300 people in need in North East Fife.
