Arco Supports RUTS
ARCO provides PPE for the Rural and Urban Training Scheme
Arco is the UK and Ireland’s leading safety expert, dedicated to keeping people safe at work. They provide high-quality PPE, workwear, safety equipment, and expert services to help businesses stay compliant and protect their workforce.
As part of their supply contract with the University of Edinburgh, Arco was asked to engage with the ESES Community Impact Team to explore opportunities for social value investment in Edinburgh and Southeast Scotland.
Through this contact, Arco was introduced to RUTS (Rural and Urban Training Scheme). RUTS is a charity and training provider that delivers a diverse range of vocational, employability and sector-specific training. Their focus is on equipping young people with the skills, confidence, and qualifications necessary to reach their full potential.
Due to the range of activities RUTS provide, they are always on the lookout for PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for their participants.
Arco donated a selection of PPE, including work overalls, safety glasses and safety gloves, which will help enable 30 young people to train safely with RUTS.
“Thanks to ESES Communities and Arco, a supportive employer of this initiative. The donation of protective clothing to RUTS is much appreciated and will be allocated to young people to help their progression into work experience and employment.”
Arco selected RUTS as one of the groups they were keen to support, as it aligned with their own vision and their desire to assist many young people in gaining skills and confidence.
Yvonne Shewan, National Account Manager at Arco shared;
"Arco is the largest PPE supplier in the UK, and we are 'Experts in Safety'. As a business, our culture and ethos are built on integrity and driven by our core goal of keeping people safe. Our organisation aims to have a positive impact on people, so RUTS were an obvious choice for us."
