Arco Supports RUTS

ARCO provides PPE for the Rural and Urban Training Scheme

Arco is based in Hull and is an integrated services and safety products business. They help monitor workplace health and safety.

As part of their contract with the University of Edinburgh, they were asked to engage with the ESES Community Impact Team to explore opportunities for investment in Edinburgh and South East Scotland.

The team introduced them to RUTS (Rural and Urban Training Scheme).

RUTS is a charity and training provider with over 40 years of experience in delivering a diverse range of vocational, employability and sector-specific training. RUTS focus on equipping young people with the skills, confidence, and qualifications needed to achieve their potential.

Due to the range of activities RUTS provide they are always on the lookout for PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for their participants.

ARCO kindly donated protective clothing for young people undertaking work experience and or training which requires specialist clothing. Their donated will enable 30 young people to continue to their training with the right gear.

“Thanks to ESES Communities and Arco, a supportive employer of this initiative. The donation of protective clothing to RUTS is much appreciated and will be allocated to young people to help their progression into work experience and employment.”
‐ Alison Nimo - Chief Operating Officer at RUTS

Arco selected RUTS as one of the groups they were keen to support as it aligned with their own vision and the fact that they wanted to assist many young people in gaining skills and confidence.
Yvonne Shewan, National Account Manager at Arco shared;

"Arco is the largest PPE supplier in the UK, and we are 'Experts in Safety'. As a business, our culture and ethos are built on integrity and driven by our core goal of keeping people safe. Our organisation aims to have a positive impact on people, so RUTS were an obvious choice for us."
