Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is a life science and clinical research company headquartered in the United States. It is a global supplier of analytical instruments, clinical development solutions, specialty diagnostics, laboratory, pharmaceutical and biotechnology services.

As part of their contract with the University of Edinburgh, Thermo Fisher Scientific is committed to engaging in Community Benefits throughout Edinburgh and South East Scotland. They frequently review the ESES Communities Portal to help deliver these initiatives.

Within a recent batch of donations, they kindly offered to support the following organisations:

 

The Pathhead and District Community Association, a registered Scottish Charity, runs Pathhead Village Hall. The village hall is an integral part of village life and requires ongoing maintenance and upgrades. They were looking for a laptop, signage and shelves for their community café.

A Development Trust is an organisation that is community based, owned and managed. Mayfield and East House Development Trust in Midlothian was formed in 2007 and aims to achieve sustainable regeneration by addressing the economic, social, environmental, and cultural needs of the Mayfield and Easthouses community. They requested funds to upgrade their community café, enabling them to generate more income.
