Can you help light up Hawick this Christmas?

Description

We are a Charity based in Burnfoot, Hawick. We aim to improve the well-being, quality of life and opportunities for residents within our community.

The Ask

We’re seeking support to enhance our free annual Community Garden Christmas Light Switch-On, which brings together 300–400 residents. In an area facing income deprivation and food poverty, this event offers festive cheer, reduces isolation, and builds community spirit. Support for extra lights and decorations will help create a welcoming, joyful space for all ages to celebrate together.

 

Like many communities in the Scottish Borders, it is very hard to get anywhere without a car. For some people, this is their only opportunity to see a Christmas Display.

We would be absolutely delighted if you could gift or donate items like a large Santa, penguins, a light-up tree, light-up reindeer, light-up penguins, an archway, a wreath, decorative candy canes, string lights, cluster lights, polar bears, a snowman, etc.

The switch-on is scheduled for the 7th of December; however, any items received after this date will be gratefully received. 

Your contribution would mean a lot to our community for years to come.
