Funding Support for Toddler Play Park

The Glencorse Centre
Description
The Glencorse Centre is a small, charity-run community centre in Auchendinny run with the help of a band of dedicated volunteers.
Their overarching aim is to help build, encourage and sustain, lasting connections within their immediate community and beyond.
They are there for everyone, no matter what they do, how old they are, where they’re from, or who they love; there’s something for everyone at the Glencorse Centre!
Within their lovely community hall, many small local businesses run classes which includes: yoga, baby massage, fitness classes, dance classes for all ages, art classes, mental health and wellbeing groups, local craft groups and more.
They are also proud to host the Penicuik Men’s Shed which is a fantastic local charity who share their core values, and they’ve been so pleased that they could offer them a home so they could keep doing the great work they do.
The Glencorse Centre have worked their socks off to redesign and rebuild this once derelict area and turn it into a community green space where all are welcome and can take part.

How You Can Help
The Glencorse Centre is seeking support to enhance their outdoor facilities to help reopen and upgrade their toddler play park.
The park has been closed due to safety concerns and urgently requires repairs and improvements to make it safe and fun for local children and their families.
Moreover, they want this to be designed to enable inclusion for all youngsters, as some may have additional needs, so ensuring that there is accessible equipment and features that promote play for every ability is an important feature.
With a growing population in the area and limited local amenities, this recreational space will offer a vital, welcoming environment for families to connect, play, and thrive.
