Penicuik Storehouse

Status: Matched
Location: Penicuik, Roslin and Bilston
Town: Penicuik

Description

Penicuik Storehouse is a volunteer‑run shop, café and community space focused on revitalising the town centre, trading ethically and sustainably, and bringing people together. We host a free weekly community meal and offer free meeting space for local groups.

Our volunteers are a diverse and dedicated team, including many with additional support needs, who help create the warm, welcoming environment the Storehouse is known for. Everyone is welcome, whether to meet others, shop, relax in the café, or get involved through volunteering. We are proud to support access to local, healthy food while keeping community-focused shopping alive.

Our request

Our ageing printer - the only one in our busy office - is on its last legs. A reliable printer is essential to our daily operations, from maintaining required paperwork such as temperature logs and cleaning schedules, to producing posters and materials for community events. Our current printer is failing and losing functionality.

Why it matters

Penicuik Storehouse is more than a shop or café; it is a thriving, community-owned social enterprise at the heart of Penicuik. Supported by volunteers and local shareholders, it demonstrates what can be achieved when a community works together with a shared purpose.

By donating a printer, you will directly support our ability to run efficiently, communicate effectively, and continue delivering vital services, investing in a compassionate community that is making a real and lasting difference.

Further details:

We would be happy with any printer, but the current one is HP, and we do have a rolling contract for printer ink supply, so a small preference for HP.

A standard printer with basic office functions (print, photocopy, scan) would be brilliant; however, we cannot accommodate anything too large because we don’t have much space.

Happy to discuss any potential offers.
