The Grassy Riggs, is a welcoming haven located in the heart of the Woodburn Community Hub in Dalkeith. Designed specifically for older people and their caregivers, this vibrant service provides a warm and supportive space where individuals over 65 can connect, forge new friendships, and discover new opportunities.
By fostering meaningful social engagement and a strong sense of community, The Grassy Riggs is dedicated to combating social isolation and exclusion. You can also enjoy a delicious, affordable meals at their drop-in cafe, which serves homemade soup, scones, and a variety of other tasty treats.
One of the activities that the members participate in is their Knitting/Crochet group, which they use their skills to create fantastic items and over the years they have knitted and donated to various charities.
How Can You Support The Grassy Riggs Team?
Their fantastic members are knitting winter woolies for the homeless in Edinburgh this year. As well as their lovingly made knitted items, they would like to be able to give them rucksacks and toiletries.
The team already have their wool supplies but are looking for financial contributions towards the backpacks and toiletries which based on 50 of these care packs would be £550.
