Fetlor & STEMCELL

Founded in 1924, Fetlor Youth Club supports children and young people in North Edinburgh in developing their resilience and confidence and achieving their potential. By offering a safe place, the team supports its members in building their confidence, achieving their ambitions, and playing a positive role in society. Their mission is to offer children and young people a safe place where skilled youth workers can take the time to build trust and support our young people, even in times of challenge, hardship and real need.

Each week, the team welcomes 300 young people, offering them all a healthy, hot meal and the opportunity to have fun, develop new skills, and enjoy new experiences. All activities and food are free to everyone who attends the club. This offer is especially important over the winter months, and the team greatly appreciates the donation of Supermarket Vouchers. These vouchers support young people and their families in the area.

 

STEMCELL Technologies provides high-quality cell culture media, cell separation technologies, instruments, accessory products, and educational resources to scientists around the world working on stem cell, immunology, cancer, regenerative medicine, and cellular therapy research.

The University of Edinburgh is one of its customers and is keen to ensure that its suppliers invest back into communities. As part of the ESES City Region Deal, they encouraged STEMCELL to review the ‘asks’ on the ESES Communities Portal.
