Help children in Edinburgh stay warm this winter

Edinburgh School Uniform Bank update

Status: Open Request
Location: Throughout the City of Edinburgh
Town: Edinburgh

Description

The Edinburgh School Uniform Bank provides new school uniforms and other essentials to children facing hardship throughout Edinburgh. Many children are living in poverty, and others need our help because they have had a sudden change of circumstances, like fleeing domestic abuse or moving into kinship care.

For many, this can mean getting soaked to the skin on the way to school and having feet that are so cold that they turn purple. Some children who don’t have adequate winter clothing simply don’t go to school when the weather is bad.

We are appealing for Winter Warmers like coats, gloves, socks, warm leggings and joggers for children and young people with the greatest need across the city.

Businesses can support us to provide these by:
(1) Asking us what we need most urgently and buying the items for us, or
(2) Providing funding, and we will do the shop.

By funding these essentials, businesses can make an immediate difference to local children, as well as giving them a chance to grow to their full potential by boosting their attendance and participation at school.
